If someone should ask you a question such as "Where can I get the most delicious steaks in Jakarta, and I am not worried about the price?", it would be of no surprise if Angus Charcoal Steakhouse is one of the top three places recommended.

Angus is essentially a Japanese steakhouse, which makes a whole lot of sense as the Japanese are renowned for their cattle. While this place is not actually a typical Japanese-fusion venue, they do slip in a few Japanese components in their dishes. Angus is famous for their set-menus, the mains of which consist of your choice of either the Kobe Beef, Wagyu Beef, Salmon or Mix Seafood Grill and is accompanied with their Hors d'oeuvres, Soup, Salad, Rice/ Bread and dessert. This set menu can cost you anywhere between Rp300.000 and upwards to Rp2.000.000 per person. Some may say that it is overtly expensive, but ultimately it all comes down to the quality of beef, especially their Kobe Beef which is astounding and definitely worth a treat.

All of their steaks are marinated in their light soy and fruity sweet sauce, and served with a a coin-sized flavoured butter on top while they are still sizzling hot. You will also always notice their famous bread on the side, which we feel completes the meal. If you decide not to opt for the set menu, then we highly recommend their starters such as the Scallop Salad and their rich and hearty Seafood Tomato Soup. For a unique Angus dish, we recommend the Salmon Roe and Crab Meat Spaghetti. This dish is served with thin slivers of dried seaweed, and the pop of salmon roe at the first bite is definitely delicious and goes well with the spaghetti and crab meat.
