Not the typical hut that you find across the tequila infested plains of Mexico, with a cactus as the only sign of life and a solo bar man wearing a sombrero hunched down on the bar, too drunk to even say his name. We have to say that the dimly lit lavish interior of beautiful bricked walls and comfortable couches depicts a well to do man's house in modern day Mexico more than it does the typical hacienda, but, this place is both comfortable and relaxing nonetheless.

The bar, oh yes there is a bar, and it is cramped with tequila bottles indigenous to Mexico. It would be a waste not to try, any using that as an excuse, we started off with a few Hacienda House Margaritas before diving into the grub. They where pretty light and may suit those who prefer the taste of lemon or strawberry more than an expected 'kick'. Not discouraged, we proceeded with some specials prepared under the watchful eyes of Gérardo Milan, a Mexican native who is well trained in the arts of home cooked Mexican cuisine.Jalapeño Poppers, deep fried big green chili pepper filled with fresh cream cheese, a delicious burning sensation at the first bite. Chimichangitas, small Chimichangas, mini burritos filled with meat, tomatoes, corn and melted cheese, very addictive. Bean & Cheese Nachos traditional Mexican Nachos with Bean & Cheese toppings. By far the best nachos we've had. As a main course, The Chicken Quesadillas Cheese & chicken-stuffed flour tortilla, baked until the cheese melts, was an excellent choice an although categorized as a starter, its serving is large enough to be a main course.

You may want to kick back after an elaborate meal and enjoy a few more drinks before closing up the night. We guarantee smiles all around and definitely a delightful experience, however do be prepared to spend quite a bit when you make your stop.
