For those of you craving good quality steaks in Jakarta,and you happen tobein South Jakarta, well then you are in luck. There is a two storey restaurant located in Cipete Raya called the Laughing Stock. Quality wise, their Australian Wagyu, Black Angus and Porterhouse steaks are carefully selected and simply beautifully cooked. Of course you would expect prime cuts of beef such as these to come with hefty price tags, but compared to other restaurants, this venue provides great value for money. For their grilled seafood selection, you can get a whole succulent US Maine lobster with garlic butter for under Rp.300.000.
Going back to the steaks, from their main courses,we highly recommend the 200gr US Hanger Steak with caramelized onion, mashed potato and fresh salad. At Laughing Stock they give you an option of fresh salads, potatoes and vegetables sides. Based upon our several visits you can never go wrong with their grilled vegetables on the side, they are always simply delicious and fresh. They also serve some interesting local and international selectionssuch as Oxtail soup (their homemade sambal is a killer) and even Sous Vide Chicken Lemongrass with pumpkin puree and tomato cherry confit in chili oil.
Laughing Stock also offers a casual dining section upstairs with comfortable couches, a sure snug place where you can enjoy their cold, long and tall Erdinger beers or their Italian sodas. For those with a sweet tooth, we recommend Uncle Romy
