South Beauty is an authentic Sichuan and Cantonese restaurant from a chain of successful Beijing-based restaurants. Jakarta is the first international chain for this successful establishment. By just entering the place you are overwhelmed with the dazzling and posh interior especially the ceiling dominated with lavish dragon design.

The flawless service once you enter South Beauty is equally overwhelmingly pleasant. Once you are seated into one of their private rooms you appreciate the fact that they have put thorough effort on every detail of their concept and also their menu. Not only do you have an array of special dishes to choose from but you get a feeling that South Beauty is more of regal fine dining establishment than a normal restaurant.

To start of your meal we recommend their Shark’s fin soup with crab meat. By far this is one of the best Shark’s fin soups in town. Accompany this menu with their Rock salad that comes presented to you shaken and stirred. LITERALLY! But the real speciality of this place has to be their main dishes, after flipping through the menu for 20 minutes thinking which one to choose we have decided to order the Australian beef tenderloin cooked with stones in hot oil. Special heated stones are used to cook the very tender tenderloin with mouth watering spices and an abundance of ginger and garlic prepared right in front of you. As for their Smoked chicken with Oolong tea is cooked in perfection. The spicy Sichuan peppers with onions and the semi crunchy chicken is an awesome combination. Truly an innovative gastronomic adventure.
