A successful Japanese franchise restaurant started by local Indonesians with a passion for Japanese food, Takigawa offers a lot of amusing and delicious twist to Japanese food. Their foei gras chawan mushi (steamed egg custard) is an absolute compulsory choice as an appetizer. The very soft almost silky steamed egg custard with duck liver pate will just melt in your mouth. Once you are ready for the main course, grab yourself some Takigawa Rolls; salmon, scallop, crabstick glazed with house-special sauce, topped with tobiko and duck liver pate. If sushi is your theme today, get Nigiri Sushi Nami. In it you will get beautifully prepared mackerel (Saba), tuna, salmon, eel, crabstick, egg, squid and shrimp sushi. Other main course choice would be the Caterpillar Roll; Prawn Tempura in mayonnaise topped with avocado and tobiko. But it can be argued that their most famous dishes comes in the form of Kamameshi which is steamed rice topped with delicious topping such as chicken, salmon or eel served in a hot iron pot. The best part of this dish is when you scrap off the almost burnt crispy rice on the bottom of the pot. End your dining experience with a Chocolate Melt, hot baked chocolate soufflé with melted dark chocolate inside, served with single scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!
