EARLY YEAR SEMINAR ON ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM & NEW STANDART UPDATE

In 2005, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) convened an international panel of energy management experts with a view to determine a need and feasibility to create an internationally accepted and common standard. ISO/PC242 was formed a year later to create the single unified approach.

The group comprised of representatives from national standards bodies, academic bodies, accreditation bodies, certification bodies and occupational safety and health institutions, with the UK’s national standards body, BSI Group, providing the secretariat. A main driver for this was to try to remove confusion in organizations from the proliferation of certifiable EnMS specifications. EnMS 50001 was published in 2011.

It has been 6 years after in 2012, ISO 50001 Energy Management System introduced in Indonesia by UNIDO, since then over 100 industries has been certified to ISO 50001 and get the benefit of the system. In 2015 a consultation company named PT. Mitra Solusi Energy Berkelanjutan or Energy Conservation and Sustainability Solution (EnCoSS) established. During the years EnCoSS has provided services to many industries in establishing Energy Management System ISO 50001, one of EnCoSS most successful client is PT. Pupuk Kaltim. This company is the first fertilizer company certified ISO 50001 in Indonesia, and have won the PEEN Soebroto Award in 2018 and got PROPER GOLD in 2017. PKT will share their experiences of success in this seminar. In 2018 the technical committee has completed the adoption of ISO 50002, 50006 and 50015 into SNI. This new SNI will be introduced in this seminar. In August 2018 the ISO established new ISO 50001:2018 that was expected to fully replaced ISO 50001:2011 in August 2021. The new standard and its transition from the 2011 version will be explained by BSI in this seminar.

It has been 3 years since EnCoSS was established and the focus of EnCoSS services was always on energy. To better reflex this focus EnCoSS as a brand will be transformed into EnerCoSS. This seminar was also mean to celebrated and introduced this new brand EnerCoSS to our distinguish clients and future clients.
